The Village Hall at Withington started life in 1921 and was known as the J W Smith Memorial Hall but in the late 1990s was replaced on a new site and opened in 1999 becoming known as The Withington Village Hall.
Our unique Hall is constructed to an interesting and versatile design and is able to offer modern and well appointed space for a wide variety of activities from large scale parties and receptions to smaller functions and committee/club meetings etc. A particular attraction of the Main Hall is its 5.8m high ceiling which is extremely popular for children’s parties requiring a bouncy castle!
The Hall is conveniently located just 5 miles North East of Hereford City, is well off the road, has ample private parking and plenty of easily accessed grassed open space outside.

Reception/Foyer
Reception/Foyer has double opening doors to front together with cloakroom and WC facilities including disabled toilet and baby changing facility.
The Main Hall
The Main Hall which measures about 16 x 9 m (53’x 29’) and has a 19’ high ceiling features a polished hardwood strip floor and in addition to large ground floor windows, has high level windows making it a lovely and light area. The main hall has direct access to the Kitchen and Bar room (see later) and is regularly used as a venue for children’s parties, pre-school education/play groups, small sports hall, fitness groups and dog training.
The Kitchen
The Kitchen is of a good size and has a wide range of appliances to suit almost all catering needs. There is a 6 hob stainless steel double oven with canopy hood, large fridge, commercial dishwasher, microwave, buffalo grill, steel sinks and adequate worktops. There is a large serving hatch and access to the main hall as well as access to the bar room. NB the use of all the quality crockery, cutlery, 100+ chairs and 15 large tables and associated utensils is INCLUDED within the Hall hire charges.
The Bar Room
The Bar Room has shuttered serving hatches to both the Main Hall and Hewison Lounge (see below) and has a sink, worktops, small fridge and a commercial heated food cabinet which can be wheeled to all the ground floor rooms of the hall, if necessary.
The Hewison Lounge
The Hewison Lounge which is about 6 x 5m (19’9 x 16’6) is separately accessed off the Reception area by means of double doors and is regularly used by smaller groups for meetings and is well suited as a training suite having the benefit of an overhead projector and screen. There is also a shuttered hatch to the bar area and access to the kitchen.
Although the principal rooms available are on the Ground Floor, there is a
First Floor comprising:
L shaped Lounge which is open plan, has lovely open views and suitable for games and/or meetings and benefits from an adjoining Cloakroom & WCs.
NB
We regret to say that this upstairs area is not suitable for anyone not able to negotiate stairs unaided as there is no lift or stair lift.
General Information
The Hall has extensive FREE parking on site together with plenty of grassed adjoining open space and is set well back from the village road. The Hall is licenced for performance of live and recorded music and has gas fired central heating. The Main Hall can accommodate up to a maximum of 250 people or 200 seated whilst the Hewison Lounge is able to seat some some 30 people. The use of ALL quality kitchen crockery, cutlery etc is included in the hire charges together with the use of 100+ chairs and some 15 large folding dining tables.
Please Note – table and chair dressings and marquee style decoration illustrated in the website photographs are NOT included in hire charges and were provided by individual hirers.
How to find us
From Hereford take the A4103 towards Worcester. Continue for about 3 miles passing Radway Bridge Nursery then shortly after a car sales showroom and garage turn left as for Withington and Westhide. The Hall will then be easily identified on the left just before the Village shop.
